We had a fantastic weekend. The company was great, the food was great, the music was great, the atmosphere was great, and the best thing…we did it on a MAJOR budget. It just goes to show that weddings don’t have to be extravagant to be enjoyable. Yes, there was probably a bit more planning in a “DIY wedding”, but you gotta do, what you gotta do. I had all but one home cooked meal this weekend so this morning I made sure I was filled up from my own cooking!
In the mix: grilled french toast, a glob of peanut butter, sprinkle of pecans, grilled bananas (yum, yum) and a side of fresh strawberries. If you haven’t tried grilled bananas, you must. There is something about the combination of hot bananas and melted peanut butter that really hit home with me.
An update on Athena: She is getting bigger and badder. There is hope for her, I know there is. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it when she is biting my toes at 5:30 AM or when she is outside for 10 minutes and comes in and relieves herself on the floor. I have tried all training techniques and have to say, plain and simple, “She is bad.” She isn’t vicious, hurtful or mean, she is just naughty, naughty and more naughty. When you see this face though, how can you say anything but…”Awww…”
My hope for her is that as Matt and Michelle say, she will be a prodigy child after 16 weeks. We have a few more weeks until we hit that mile marker and the day can’t come soon enough. Hopefully she will be the “good girl” that I always sarcastically say to her. Come on 16 weeks, come on…
