If you haven’t made homemade peanut butter before and you have a food processor, you must make it today. Well, there might not be enough time on this busy work day, so do it this weekend! I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make, how tasty it was, and how much it resembled the goodness you get out of the jar at the store. The great part about homemade peanut butter is there aren’t as many additives as store bought brands. In fact if you don’t want to, you don’t have to add anything extra – just peanuts. I added a touch of maple syrup and a sprinkle of sea salt to kick it up a notch, but again that’s not necessary.
I have made homemade almond butter before and that was good, but not nearly as delicious as this homemade peanut butter. I realized the difference between the two: the creaminess. This peanut butter just melts in your mouth! Go on, you know you want to make it…
Homemade Creamy Peanut Butter
- 2 cup unsalted peanuts
- 1 tsp maple syrup (more if you like it sweeter)
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- In food processor, place peanuts inside and press “go!”
- Allow peanuts to go through stages: coarse meal, crumbly pieces, large ball, peanut paste, peanut butter – this takes almost 10 minutes.
- When creaminess is reached, add maple syrup and salt, give one more swirl.
- ENJOY with a spoon!
